September 2004 Throughout four days, Tecno Fidta 2004 became the most important exhibition for the food industry in South America.
The seventh edition of the International Food Technology, Additives and Ingredients Exhibition, TECNO FIDTA 2004, closed with excellent results and exceeded the expectations of visitors, organizers and exhibitors alike. Throughout the exhibition, major national and international players of the Food Industry gathered in a unique venue for this industry The exhibition was displayed on an area of 6,500 meters (7,108 yards) where 265 companies showed their products and services. Exhibitors came from the United States, Brazil, Spain, Peru, Germany, Uruguay and Chile. There were more than 800 brands from 30 countries present. The exhibition walkways were packed all the time. Exhibitors managed to receive only professionals from this industry, thus getting excellent leads. Public attendance was overwhelming, a large number coming from 26 countries: Austria, Colombia, Chile, Spain, Italy, Germany, the United States and Mexico, among others. Jorge D’Alleva, Managing Partner of Industrias Metalúrgicas Damiani y D’Alleva commented: “My expectations were largely exceeded; we came with the goal of contacting prospects from far away and we have already increased our business leads by 70%. The organization was spotless”. Enrique Kelly, VP of Jarvis, indicated: “We are very proud of the outcome of this Tecno Fidta. Expert public was very interested in our products. I would like to express my congratulations for project management and the outstanding attendance”. Within the framework of Tecno Fidta 2004, a large number of conferences were held and training sessions were taught by AATA, the Argentinean Association of Food Technologists, and by Publitec Publishing House. Rooms were packed with people and the matters discussed included a new regulation for Mandatory Nutritional Labeling that is becoming into force in Mercosur; with the attendance of approximately 60 companies interested in getting updated and trained in relation to this subject. Tecno Fidta was the right venue to get leads. The Mendoza Stock Exchange’s Eurocentro played a major role through its Al Invest program, offering exhibitors the coordination of meetings with European and Latin American prospects. The exhibition depicted the following product groups: Processing; Packing and Bottling; Additives; Ingredients and Raw Material; Refrigeration; Quality Control and Labs; Automation and Control; Accessories and Peripherals; Industrial Services. The excitement for the achievements of this edition is already prompting the efforts for the next Tecno Fidta 2006, which will take place between September 19 and 22 at Centro Costa Salguero.
