Tecno Fidta 2006 ended with an outright success.
The eighth edition of the most important exhibition in Latin America for the Food Technology, Additive and Ingredients industry has largely exceeded prior editions.
The exhibition was visited by 15,078 professionals from this industry.
A long applause closed the eighth edition of Tecno-Fidta 2006. Exhibitors made a toast to the success of the event, the new business contacts made and the prestige of the exhibition. They were really happy with the results obtained. Some of them told us as follows:

This edition of Tecno-Fidta 2006 has exceeded prior editions as to the number of professionals that visited it, of conferences given, and the footage occupied.
Tecno-Fidta 2006 occupied the 6 pavilions of the Costa Salguero Trade Center, plus a new structure brought especially from Belgium, which was annexed so as to be able to set up and operate the meatpacking facility. The overall gross footage occupied was in the neighborhood of 19,000 sq mt, i.e.: a 30% growth vis á vis the 2004 edition.
A total of 302 exhibitors from Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Peru, Italy, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands and the United States showed their products and services to the visitors.
For the first time in a business event, there was a live recreation of a meatpacker operation.
The Tecno Fidta Meat Processing Experience was a venue where an actual production environment was replicated. New manufacturing practices, the HACCP and the application of technologies to optimize innocuousness and quality processes for Argentinean beef were displayed with a training approach. Interested public had the opportunity to get training regarding new equipment used in the cutting process. This live experience from the meat world was undoubtedly the highlight and the big hit of
Tecno-Fidta 2006. None of the visitors failed to go by this activity.
The 8th Food Technology, Additives and Ingredients Exhibition was visited by 15,078 professionals of this industry from Argentina, Germany, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain, the US, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela, among other countries.
Many visitors decided to participate in the Academic Seminars held by exhibitor organizations, associations and companies. Some of the institutions involved were INTI, INTA, ACSOJA and SAGPyA, among others. Also, AL Invest business rounds between local companies and European buyers were held within the framework of the exhibition. It was organized by Mendoza’s Eurocenter.
For the second time, Indexport Messe Frankfurt was in charge of the organization of the exhibition. The work team saw all their efforts mirrored in the success of the event. The president of the company,
Mr. Fernando Gorbarán, stated, in his opening speech: “(...) I would like to share with you the importance of having a Technology Exhibition in Argentina. We are convinced this is the road for our products to reach the international market with a real contribution and added value. That is why I would like to thank all the companies that have relied on our project and that are with us with such quality, innovative and world-class booths. (...)”
The Director of Technical Fairs with the Messe Frankfurt GmbH, Mrs. Iris Jeglitza-Moshage, addressed this industry with a very encouraging message:
“(…) We rely on the Latin American market, with its growth potential and its relevance for the international food industry. We have a reason to do so. Argentina, with a high degree of competitiveness, is one of the 5 top food exporters worldwide, apart from being the 5th beef producer worldwide. Our purpose is to continue expanding Tecno Fidta as a meeting point for Argentinean businessmen and international manufacturers. This year there have been more brands than those present two years ago. Apart from Argentina, there were exhibitors from Peru, Brazil, Uruguay, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United States (…)”
Dr. Margarita Olivera Carrión, the President of the Argentinean Food Technologists Association (AATA), the organizers of and responsible for one of the major training courses given at the exhibition, indicated:
“(...) In the name of the Argentinean Food Technologists Association we would like to thank Tecno Fidta and Indexport Messe Frankfurt for having given us the opportunity to be here with you. Our association has walked with Tecno Fidta since its inception with Training Courses and professional updates. (...) We would like to congratulate the organizers for the impact of this food technology exhibition which, we believe beyond doubt, is the most important of those organized in our country and in the region every year (...).”
Mr. Raúl Sanchez, CPA, the Director General of Industry, Services and Foreign Trade with the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, also took part in the opening ceremony:
“(...) I would like to thank and congratulate Indexport Messe Frankfurt. Undoubtedly, everybody acknowledges the efforts and the quality of this organization in each event, fair, exhibition. I would also like to congratulate the Argentinean Food Technologists Association for this Training Session held at this international exhibition, which makes it even more valuable. (...) Finally, I would like to welcome foreign participants and I expect they can make business with the national industry (...)."
The next edition of Tecno Fidta will be held on September 23 to 26, 2008 at the
Costa Salguero Trade Center.
