September 2010
Tecno Fidta 2010 is confirmed as the meeting point par
excellence of the food processing industry in Spanish-speaking America.
The event stood out for covering the whole food market,
from packing and bottling, additives, raw material, automation and control
and general services.
The tenth edition of Tecno Fidta came to an end with
excellent results and exceeded the expectations both of exhibitors,
organizers and professional visitors. During the fair, the main players of
the national and international market of food industry took part in a unique
meeting for the sector.
270 exhibiting companies coming from eight
countries participated in the fair: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, China,
Italy, Spain, United States and Uruguay. The exhibition was
visited by 14,540 professional visitors, businessmen and
technicians devoted to food processing sector. The organization of the fair
was in charge of the Argentine Association of Food Technologists (AATA)
and Indexport Messe Frankfurt.
In the opening ceremony, the President of Indexport Messe
Frankfurt, Mr. Fernando Gorbarán, apart from thanking the joint work
of exhibitors, sponsors and chambers of the sector, addressed
professionals and business highlighting that: “One of the keys of the
exhibition is the ability to combine the offer of products and services
with training”. He also highlighted that: “(…) Due to more than 40
sponsoring entities, we were able to release this event very
successfully throughout Latin America. Today we are carrying out the 10th
edition, considered as the most important exhibition for food industry in
Spanish-speaking South America. Its importance also extended globally thanks
to the support and diffusion of IFFA, which is the leading exhibition
worldwide for meat processing industry”.
Likewise, the Vice-president of AATA, Magister Gustavo
Locati,
expressed his gratitude to all exhibitors and visitors and highlighted in
relation to profession: “The increasing demand of consumers looking for
healthier and safer food that offer information on its benefits in the short
term requires an ongoing training and updating of food technologists. Once
again, Tecno Fidta offers the space for training, to find technological
advances in food processing and AATA also wishes to collaborate by giving
conferences and courses for food professional training”. Regarding the
exhibition's aims, he stated: “Tecno Fidta also offers the opportunity of
meeting and getting closer between the several areas, in order to promote
interaction among scientists and industrialists that can jointly give answer
to our market needs. We hope to find in this event many wishes of innovation
and looking for new challenges, because this is the base for technological
development and to get this added value in food industry”.
Below, the President of the Association of Suppliers of Food
Industry
(ADEPIA), Mr. Luis Adur, stated that: “We have shown day after day
that Argentina is growing worldwide in terms of technology: here you will
see machinery of top-level service companies, such as the one you can find
in IFFA. I'm proud of being here today”.
The Undersecretary of Commercial Politics and Management of
the
Argentine Department of Industry, Acc. Eduardo Faingerch, was
also present and expressed his satisfaction regarding the fair and
provided some figures of the sector: “I would like to point out some
foreign trade figures related to food industry, machinery and services:
between 2003 and 2009, both imports and exports grew in practically the same
percentage, a 170 % that represents an annual 18 %, thus showing that we can
be competitive and even create added value”.
Finally, the Secretary of Agriculture, Cattle Raising and
Fishing
Department of Argentina, Eng. Lorenzo Basso, stated: “This
exhibition is a proof that Argentina has a lot to say in the area of food
technology”. Regarding his tasks as government employee, he stated that: “In
the end, I would like to refer to the strategic plan of the Department,
which includes all value chains because it is important to create alliances
among all links to be able to compete in international markets”.
Once the opening ceremony finished, the ribbon cutting took
place
with the outstanding presence of Mr. Berthold Gassmann, Presidentof
the Consultative Council of IFFA and President of the Division ofMeat
Processing Machines of the German Association of Machinesand Equipment
Constructors (VDMA). Then, it started the official visit of the fair.
During 4 days, within the framework of Tecno Fidta 2010,
it was
carried out a complete program of academic activities related to
foodtechnology: conferences, seminars, symposiums and demos. Again,
AATA's Technical Conferences were carried out and the main subjects
covered were: food processes, healthy food, food labeling, etc. Besides, the
following courses were given: “Realities and fantasies of spices in
Argentina” and “Food Quality: Impact of the system Package/Logistic of it”.
Another great attraction was the area Traceability in
Action. For
second year in a row, visitors had the chance of knowing about the
advantages of having traceability systems in four food agro-food
chains: poultry products, bovine meat, powdered milk and cheese. In this
case, companies of the sector carried out demos on technology application.
The Seminar on Differentiated and Not Traditional Meat
was
organized by Fundación Empresaria de la Patagonia (FEPA). The program
included different lectures that covered sector politics for the promotion
of the segment: demand and commercialization; alternative productions and
certification and quality assurance systems, among others. Besides, several
case analyses were developed.
Besides, for the main businessmen of the industry to enter
the
exporting circuit and strengthen existing commercial relationships, the
2nd International Matchmaking Program for Buyers of Food Technology,
Additives and Ingredients took place and was organized by Indexport
Messe Frankfurt jointly with Fundación Export.Ar and PROARgentina.
Buyers from abroad coming from Latin America participated in it and
celebrated successful meetings with Argentine companies related to the food
technology sector and meat industry machinery apart from all areas related
to processing. The result was highly positive because many businesses were
done and exports were promoted.
Some of the exhibiting companies gave their opinion on the
result of
their participation on the fair:
AEFEMAC / AFELPAN / ALIMENTEC
Víctor Alves, Director
“I come from Spain on behalf of AMEC (…) and we have decided to
attend Tecno Fidta in a commercial mission, supported by the
Spanish government, more than 23 companies of which 18 are
exhibiting their products. The assessment of each of these
companies and of myself is that this is an interesting fair with Latin
American projection. We believe in it, we will continue going for the
future and from Spain we consider that it is important because of all
that Argentina implies in agricultural and industrial sector production.
We hope to be here again in 2 years”.
ALFONSO CHIACCHIERA
Luciana Chiacchiera, Manager
“This year the quality of visitors was excellent, many foreigners
coming from Latin America, contacts were excellent. (...) Up to the
moment, it has been the best fair”.
DAMIANI y D´ALLEVA
Jorge D´Alleva, Managing Partner
“This year we are celebrating our 50 years as a company. It is the
fifth edition of Tecno Fidta in which we participate. Clearly, the result is
positive as in all editions. (…) It has really been as or even more
fruitful than previous editions”.
FAMIQ
Eng. Ricardo Feldman, Manager of Technical Office
“In this edition, we have seen that we have more than 100 active
customers that also exhibit in this fair. We have also noted the
presence of foreigners coming from neighboring countries and others from
America which have analyzed with us the possibility of doing new business
with the company, something we look for in Tecno Fidta”.
FIMER Sistema Constructivo
Alberto Filippi, Manager
“The visit of top level companies from Ushuaia to Jujuy and from the
whole country in the Buenos Aires market, added to visitors from
abroad, poses us an excellent opportunity. (...) Nowadays, to visit
each customer is a very costly task and we have to offer our
products. In an event as Tecno Fidta, the prospect comes to us
because we are hosts”.
FRAUTSCHI
Juan Carlos Frautschi, President
“We consider this one is the exhibition that better adapts to our
sector, which is the manufacturing of elements to industrialize food
products. In this exhibition we can strengthen the relationship we
have with customers and find new customers that allow us to expand
our business”.
FRÍO INGENIERÍA
Marcelo Barbani, President
“We are a firm located in the city of Luján and this is the first
time we participate in this exhibition. Our assessment is very good, a very
interesting result”.
FRÍO RAF
Juan José Galliano, Sales Department
“This is undoubtedly a very important fair for us due to the number
and quality of visitors, since the profile is not only managerial but also
for maintenance and processes and this helps us to improve
ourselves year after year”.
INMOBAL NUTRER
Fabián Bálsamo, Product Manager
“We have received the visit of our main customers; we made new
contacts from prospects. I believe the fair has got a very good level of
exhibitors and stands quality. Undoubtedly, the companies which
decided to be in Tecno Fidta invested a good percentage of their
marketing budget and this fact has been reflected in stands”.
VMC Refrigeración
Marcelo Modenesi, President
“(…) We have been very consistent in this fair because we have got
extraordinary results biannually due to visitors’ quality, diversity of the
sector, because it is increasingly bigger and we see more pavilions (...)
Evidently, it is one of the best investment in marketing we annually make”.
